Is it Expandable?

You can use DuraDesk all by itself, or you can get DuraDesks for each member of your team. With multiple users you get shared file space, free email domain setup (for your doman name), and a Microsoft SharePoint Team site, so you can start collaborating immediately. And you can add additional DuraDesk users anytime with a phone call.

For many small companies, DuraDesk is all you need. But as you grow, you can add DuraServers running powerful industry software to create an Office in a Cloud. Or you can bring your team's DuraDesks onsite with Office in a Box. DuraDesk and DuraServer give you room to grow.

How Do I Connect to my DuraDesk?

You connect to your DuraDesk from any computer (even your cell phone) using Remote Data Protocol (RDP). Most computers have a built-in RDP client. Or you can login through our website and use its built-in Java-based RDP client.

What About My Computer Hardware?

We provide a variety of options to help you manage your onsite computer ranging from maintenance of your hardware and software to full supported replacement hardware.

Management & Monitoring – this package includes performance monitoring, application of monthly updates and patches and free remote technical support. Starting at $49.95/month.

Desktop Replacement – this option provides replacement hardware and software for each user including a business-class workstation loaded with Windows XP or Windows 7, Microsoft Office Standard, Outlook, Acrobat and more.  If anything goes wrong with the hardware, we repair or replace it free.  And software and Windows upgrades are included to make your investment future-proof.  Starting at $99.95/month.

Thin Clients – these solid state mini computers replace your existing workstations and access your DuraServer directly.  With no moving parts, they are extremely rugged.  We provide remote maintenance and support, and the software and user experience are included with your DuraServer. Thin clients save time and money, and use less power than your current workstations. Starting at $29.95/month.

How Does this Save Money?

The real cost of your desktop, laptop or netbook isn't the purchase price. It includes the cost of your software and upgrades. It includes the time you spend moving your data around from one machine to another so you can keep working at home or on the road. It includes the time you spend deleting spam and removing viruses. And the money you spend on repairs when a virus gets through. Not to mention the time you are without your computer. DuraDesk means you can use any computer as your computer. And since the software runs on our servers, you can run the latest programs even on your old slow laptop.

What Are You Responsible For?

DDC provides everything but the personal computer you use to access your DuraDesk including most of your line of business software with free upgrades and remote technical support.  If it's part of DuraDesk , we manage it, fix it, or replace it for free.

What Am I Responsible For?

You are responsible for all the software and hardware you provide, your onsite network components like switches and routers, your local backup system and your internet connection.  Of course we are happy to help you manage and maintain these systems too for our standard service rates.  If you get hardware from us, you are also responsible for protecting the hardware we provide from unauthorized access.  You are required to maintain sufficient insurance to replace our equipment in the event of theft, abuse, physical damage, power damage, or natural disaster.

What’s Involved in Setup?

Setup is simple.  Your DuraDesk will be preconfigured with the Microsoft software. If you specify additional software when you order such as Quickbooks or Dreamweaver, it will be presinstalled and ready for you to personalize. If you provide us additional email addresses we will even preconfigure your email client.

If you order DuraDesk for multiple users, we will configure your team email domain, give every one access to a shared drive, and setup a basic SharePoint Team site that you can customize.

How Do I Get My Current Data to DuraDesk?

DuraDesk can see the drives on the computer you use to access it, so you can just copy and paste your files to DuraDesk or search for them with Windows Explorer.

Your email history can be exported from your current email client and imported to Outlook in DuraDesk. You can access your Exchange email account from your current email clients as well as through DuraDesk.

To learn all about working with DuraDesk, check out our online user guide.

How Much Does It Cost?

DuraDesk starts as low as $49.95 per month with Windows Aero user interface, POP3 email, 5GB of storage and open source business applications like Open Office.

A well equipped DuraDesk with Office Standard, Exchange email, SharePoint MySite and 15 GB of storage costs just $89.95 per month. Special discounts are available for certified educational institutions.

If you have specialty applications, we will install them for our standard service rates.

How Do You Bill?

Your monthly service fee for DuraDesk will be automatically debited using a credit card or ACH information you provide.  Service and technical support outside of the scope of the service (such as support for your hardware or software or third-party applications) is billed via invoice with 15 day net terms.

What are the Terms?

DuraDesk requires a 6 month commitment.  Early cancellation requires payment of ½ the remaining contract balance.  To understand all the terms, view the Terms of Use and Customer Agreement.
